The Ateneo de Manila High School Campus

The Ateneo de Manila High School is situated in the sprawling Loyola Heights campus of the Ateneo de Manila University. Loyola Heights is a residential and university community within Metro Manila, with a commercial strip housing banks, offices, restaurants, stores, and a church. The district is also home to two other large educational institutions: the University of the Philippines and Miriam College.

The Ateneo de Manila University Campus is located along Katipunan Avenue, a major thoroughfare adjacent to the said commercial strip. The High School campus itself is located along the University's Fr. Masterson Drive. Like the rest of the University, the High School campus bears the Ateneo's characteristic gentle, rolling terrain of grassy fields and tall trees. This beautiful, serene environment provides a favorable atmosphere for disciplined inquiry, fruitful interaction, and quiet reflection.

The high school campus features various facilities and amenities designed to give full and value-added support to the rigorous learning environment of the Ateneo. It is home to a library, which is meant to serve the entire community by providing access to numerous collections and materials -- local and foreign books, periodicals, as well as educational CD-ROMs and other computer-based multimedia programs that members of the community can use. The library also houses a study hall for students who wish to find a quiet place to catch up on their academics. The high school is also home to the ITC (Instructional Technology Center), a school facility that houses numerous audio and video materials, numerous pieces of technical equipment that can be used, and two AV rooms for viewing. The Ateneo is also home to the Tanghalang Onofre Pagsanghan where the group Dulaang Sibol stages theatrical an musical productions. The Tanghalan is one of the high school's two theatres, the other being Hayes Hall located in the Third Year wing. The school also has an enormous sports complex, housing over five courts that can be converted for use in either basketball or volleyball, or even large gatherings, as well as three soccer fields and a track oval. Beside this sports complex is another major sports facility of the University -- the Moro Lorenzo Sports Complex, a huge, multi-level training facility which houses a basketball court, a volleyball court, an indoor track oval, numerous training rooms, a weights room, and other facilities for athletics. In the high school there are also numerous buildings and classrooms that can accommodate the growing student population and house the high school's many offices, centers, and laboratories. There are also two cafeterias open to service all those who might need refreshments or full meals.

The usual basic services are offered by an infirmary, several cafeterias, photocopying services, numerous phone booths, drinking fountains, and an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). Other similar services may be found along the commercial strip outside the University.

The Ateneo's campus sets the tone for a very conducive learning environment-- one that provides a unique, spirited, learning experience that instills and cultivates in a student the best education.
